| subject: | Cordless Telephones |
From: Gregg N I have a Panasonic 5.8GHz DSS cordless phone that exhibits a strange sort of problem. I was hoping maybe someone could tell me if this was just the nature of all 5.8GHz spread spectrum phones before I went and purchased another one. Basically, the phone acts as if it supports only half-duplex communication. That is to say, when the other party is speaking, they can't hear me. This makes it impossible to interrupt, which I like to do from time to time. I actually have to wait for them to finally shut up before I can speak. I don't like this. I also tested with a corded phone to make sure it was not my service that is doing this (it isn't). I have an 802.11g network in the house, so I don't want a 2.4GHz telephone.
