Don't know if you mean me, but I'll answer anyway.
As far as field crops go, our place is small, only 18 acres, and the 15
or so acres that are planted are in clover/grass hay. With two cuttings, we
get about 500-600 square bales a year. Last fall, we bought some extra hay
at $3.00 a bale and this spring people are selling the same second cut hay
for $3.50 - $5.00 a bale. (Supply and demand, you know!)
As far as garden crops go, this is our first year here. We moved in last
July and spent most of that summer bringing the grounds back into shape. The
previous owners had gotten tired of the life out here and, as soon as they
found out the place has sold, just let things go. This'll be the first
summer where we've planted a garden and it'll be a few months before we
really know what benefits there are.
As far as eggs go, we haven't bought store eggs since last November,
except for the dozen my S/O bought because she thought brown eggs wouldn't
dye as well for Easter. So far, I've ony actually sold 6 dozen, so they
aren't causing the cash to roll in yet, but by middle of summer I should have
close to 40 chickens laying and things will be a little different.
