Thanks for the advice.  The instructors of my class have harped on solid
assessment skills and patient care.  I'm sure all of you have heard the
slogan "Paramedics save lives, Basics save Paramedics."  When I first
heard that, I missed the point of it.  I thought is was a kind of
propaganda to bolster the confidence of Basics.  As the class
progressed, I came to understand that it meant that, Basic _SKILLS_ will
see you through. Even the paramedics have to have good, solid basic
skills.
Anyway, I'm excited about joining the service, but, I must admit, I can
hardly wait until next fall when I can start the Intermediate class.
