    I've used that setting for both general saving and restoration after a 
creash.  If you crash, when you bring the system back up and Word, word 
states that it is restoring last file open.  Otherwise with general use 
it, according to time specified will ask if you would like to save or skip 
save of file.  I'll have to research the problem a little more.  Sorry it 
wasn't what you were looking for.
