In all seriousness, this is hardly difficult.  It's a human male over a
certain age, and the only degree of uncertainty is the age.  People
call the definition into question so they can question the masculine
identity of those they dislike.  "You're not a man unless you ."

For the purpose of insulting men they dislike, they could just as
easily use a novel invention known as the _adjective_.  For instance, a
man who doesn't do much is a _lazy_ man, and his inactivity doesn't
make him something other than a man.
