Hi Nick, Below are some additional links and info: Bill ----- Original Message ----- From: George To: "Bill Buckels" Sent: Tuesday, January 20, 2009 9:37 PM Hi, Since you are still into the Apple II-IIgs and have been for a long Time. I thought I would let you know that the Hydrogen Peroxide in greater concentrations work in removing the yellow from the cases. Finally have proof it works. This is something that I was looking for of proof that it works. This should work with other plastics (mac cases) that have aged from the same causes. It seems Seems to affect/bother any paint, not the plastic. A 10% should/might work better. Will have to read all of the posts. Any case should be cleaned of any dirt and grease or oils to help it come out even. Painted logos should be removed. Metal that can rust should be removed. Not sure how strong the UV light is that used. As I said I will have to read and read all the posts. http://retromaccast.ning.com/forum/topics/deyellowing-mac-cases http://www.vintage-computer.com/vcforum/showthread.php?t=12566&page=6 Take Care, George --- SBBSecho 2.12-Win32* Origin: Derby City Gateway (1:2320/0) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 34/999 120/228 123/500 128/2 140/1 222/2 226/0 236/150 249/303 SEEN-BY: 250/306 261/20 38 100 1404 1406 1410 1418 266/1413 280/1027 320/119 SEEN-BY: 393/11 396/45 633/260 267 712/848 800/432 801/161 189 2222/700 SEEN-BY: 2320/100 105 200 2905/0 @PATH: 2320/0 100 261/38 633/260 267 |
