subject: 386 memory

-> Have an American Megatrends 386 with only 4 megs of memory. Want to
-> upgrade to at least 8 megs. Can anyone tell me what kind of simms
-> this board would use, (30 pin???) and how far up can this memory be
-> upgraded, and what is the costs out there for these simms?
Does it have SIMMs slots on it? And how many?
Some of the earlier 386's used individual ram chips on the board (like
early Gateway 386-25Mhz) and expansion required and ISA memory card.
Later boards have SIMM slots for 30 pin SIMMs and most could take up to
32 meg (8 slots using 4 meg simms) at least.
I have several sets of 1 meg 30 pin SIMMs here if you would like to get
to 8 meg. (add 4 more simms). That would be about $15 mailed via USPS.
I don't have any 4 meg 30 pin SIMMs, sorry.
