CM> I'm not anarchist Jim, I'm a realist
realism: a tendency to face facts and be practical
CM> and as such anti-socalist!
"socialism: a theory of the ownership and operation of the means and
production and distribution by society, with all members sharing in the
work and the products."
"capitalism: the economic system in which the means of production and
distribution are privately owned and operated for profit."
Which do you prefer?
CM> No one was talking about anarchy
When you start saying that "seat belt" laws and vehicle license plates are
"un-Constitutional" and that _you_ should have the freedom to drive wherever
and whenever _you_ please _regardless_ of what the _rest_ of your community
has decided, that is, indeed, anarchy.
anarchy: the absence of government
CM> we were talking about un-fair taxes in the name of freedom.
No, we _weren't_ talking about "unfair taxes". The impression I get from
hat
you say is that _you_ think _all_ forms of taxation (such as the multiple
taxes levied on the production and distribution of bread) are unfair. As for
"in the name of freedom"...? That's _exactly_ why we pay taxes. For a
entral
government to help protect those freedoms.
CM> Next time refuse the pay into the "voluntary" IRS tax system and see
just how free you really are.
If I didn't want to pay into the U.S. tax system at _all_, I would simply
move to another country. But... By judicious use of a 401K I _do_ reduce my
tax burden and defer some of it to a later date. When I turn 62 I will also
defer my county property tax until after I am dead.
I don't object to taxes per se (as you seem to do). What _I_ object to is
ow
my tax money is _spent_. And I exercise my Constitutional right to express
that disagreement at the ballot box.
CM> ... Save the whales , we'll eat them last !
Does that mean you're opposed to the Makah hunting whales for historical,
traditional purposes? What happened to "religious freedom"?
