 You had a pro officer corps.  While I don't know if there was any
 difference generally, we had an officer corps that was at least in part
 made up of guys who considered themselves warriors and wanted to
 demonstrate such.
 Off-topic part: you recall Fry Blvd in Sierra Vista?  The lot I could
 have bought for $4K, which you could have bought for $2-3?K...is priced
 in the $1200-2K PER FOOT area.
