Hi, Pensey. I do understand that there are some problems and that
the world-wide republishers are rightfully unhappy with the way New
Deal is starting out. But I still feel that it is just as wrong to be
antagonistically bad-mouthing in an international echo when the
new company hasn't really gotten started yet. The place for the
international republishers or redistributors or whatever they are
called to complain is IMO at New Deal's office, and IMO the rest of
us should just shut up and wait to see what happens next. I wrote an
e-mail note to the USI rep, Ken Lemay, and got an immediate reply.
Surely I'm not the only one who can reach New Deal through that medium.
PC>>Fair comment, Anne. What worries me, though, is that neither Geoworks
PC>>nor New Deal have talked to the seven republisher around the world,
PC>>asked their opinions on marketing the new package etc.
This is a legitimate concern. But I haven't noticed anybody but
Helmar Rudolph bitching and screaming about it all over the world.
There is a big difference between disagreeing publicly with the way
something is being handled and making personal attacks on a company
or an individual. You would do the former in a nice way; Helmar
has been doing the latter.
PC>>Frankly I think New Deal have made a bad start and need to take an
PC>>urgent look at the reasons that the international republishers are so
PC>>unhappy!!!
So have you written to Ken about it? I would think that your words
as publisher of GeigaCountR and a leader in the development of a
network of GEOS users in Australia and New Zealand would carry a lot
of weight with him and that he would take your concerns to upper
management.
