Sun is sinfully sloppy about their numbering.  On PC, the latest are
1.4-something, and 1.5.6 (a.k.a. something else, I forget).  1.5 seems to
suit everything.

It's only on Mac that 1.4 (.3?) and 1.5 must *both* be installed to cover
every program's needs.  I know no more.
