...or on the Apple II itself!

The connectors are quite fragile under repeated twisting, which is a
very natural thing to do when inserting and removing the plugs.

An application of solder at the point where the center contact attaches
to the printed circuit board is usually enough to fix it--but no more
twisting!  ;-)
