The eBay seller in no way misrepresented it. They were clear that they knew
nothing about the unit and were selling "as is". There was even
a large, bold
plea to bidders that they make sure they understood what they were bidding on.
That's precisely what I was attempting to do by contacting the manufacturer.

The problem here is with a company that feels fine about disowning previous
generations of product. I don't expect endless support, but in this day and
age it costs them nothing to scan the supported device list for obsolete
models and make it available on line. Or, failing that, at least spend 30
seconds thinking about their answer before blowing off inquiries from someone
like me who wasn't chasing them to thrust money into their hands.

The folks spending the big bucks to buy their current generation of units have
this quality of "support" to look forward to down the road.

In contrast, Andromeda are proud of being able to support and talk
authoritatively about any and all of their products back to day one.
