JF-> I have run into a bloc that I am at a loss in solving.  I have been
  -> trying to get a Mac to communicate on my pc.  I wanted to d/l a
  -> converted file so the Mac could incorporate it into a DTP product.  I
  -> had tried the Host mode approach.  When the user logged on I got strange
  -> Ascii  MCD@ @. should equate Chuck.  I was unsuccessfull at logging onto
  -> the Mac using the phone directory (alt-d).  I would connect but no
  -> further.  Any suggestions  I am using ver. 5.0.
MAC does not has ANSI per se, so setting emulation to TTY and 7-N-1
might help.
