subject: Possible problem with net

BEW ->Thanks, but no thanks. Until now we haven't got any real support
->from any of the suppliers, but it seems that the new 2.12
->version of Novell's Client32 could solve our problem (neterr()
->returns .t. on a dbappend(), but sometimes somehow existing
->records are overwritten anyway). At least, we couldn't replicate
    ->this problem with Client32 2.12 until now.
Speaking of which, the problem with Windows 95b (also known as OEM95 or
OSR2) have been resolved. Sort of.
A network redirector named VREDIR.VXD supplied with Windows 95b isn't
handling local caching of data properly. When the network data was
updated, it wasn't reflected in the local cache. This, too, resulted in
NETERR() returning .F. when a dbappend() failed with the result being
overwritten records.
The simple fix is to copy a copy of VREDIR.VXD from a Windows 95a
computer over to the Windows 95b computer, and then reboot it.
For more information, and a patch file to give you a new copy of
VREDIR.VXD and a registry key update to turn off local caching
(something the original Windows 95b redirector could not do), check out

Supposedly this only affects NT networks. Looks like you found a new
one.
Oh yeah, and Successware and DFL (the LightLib graphics folks) have
both been bought by someone named Luxent Software. The www.gosware.com
page now points you to http://www.luxent.com
Guess you can kiss the Clipper stuff goodbye forever now, even though
Jeff Jochum is now CEO of Luxent.
