Actually think about it.. Plants do better when you talk to them, why?
Because you pay more attention to them, not because they like your
stories :) I think someone that names their own boat (or renames it) has
pride in it, and that pride will probably mean more attention to its
needs.. I had a boat that I didn't name, it was a new one and I didn't
like it from the first week (was a trade deal).. It gave me nothing but
headaches and I gave it nothing but, well nothing. My current boat is
not a real gem, however I love it, am proud of it and game her the name
Distant Thunder (due to an un-naturaly low-loud exhaust note for a twin
stern-driver). It doesn't give me any hassles, but on the other hand I
do give it attention..
