Slim Pickens was a cowboy actor of the 1960s and 1970s.  In the movie Dr
Strangelove  he plays a psychotically gung ho B52 pilot, sent to bomb his
targets in Russia.  I've seen the *end* of the film about 800 times back in
the day when old films would play late night on network TV.

Picken's Character rigs a rope around the nuclear bomb his jet is carrying,
wraps his hands around that and rides the bomb like a rodeo bull all the
way down, shouting "YEEE HOOO!" as he plummets towards the most
thorough death in film. That scene made my Mom more Liberal.  That was hard
to do.  but in the aftermath of Viet Nam and Watergate, it had a lot more
crdibility for her.
