But with 7 CD's, I would say you need a lot of memory.. 
Does 4.1 still have the MONITOR util??  Load it & see how much cache buffers 
you have.  If its less then 50 or 60%, add memory.  The lower it is, the 
faster you should run for it..
There is a formula for figuring memory for 3.x, but its a bit different for 
4.x.  I think it figured out to about 12 meg memory per 1 gig of disk space.. 
 For the CD's, I was told they use a larger cluster size, so they need less 
memory per gig, but havent looked into confirming it..
