* In a message originally to John Dailey, Stephen Hurd said: SH> Actually, com libs are the easiest bits to port... *nix has extensive com SH> routines standard. If there's a particular com lib you'd like ported or SH> rewritten, I can probobly handle that in under a week for you if you SH> like. I'm glad someone finds them easy to work with :) I sure don't. I've only had luck with a commercial lirary I acquired from another author. Only downside is that it's heavily rooted in BP7 and made up of a million library files (exaggeration, but it is a lot). Elecom has been the most promising library I've seen recently. The socket portion of the code works wonderfully, but as I said - the FOS_COM portion doesn't work at all (at least from what I can tell) - though it could be my setup. I haven't been able to determine what the story is yet. What I need is a bare-bones comm library that's highly portable (through compiler switches is good). My door library is a wrapper that can be fitted to a new com library in a matter of minutes. I'm going to continue trying to get the FOSSIL portion of Elecom to work and if I do, that'll be the library I go with. ---* Origin: http ftp telnet://badnews.bbs.us & badnewsbbs.darktech.org (3:633/690) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 633/690 285 260 261/38 123/500 106/2000 633/267 |
