GC> What an interesting world we live in! The company
GC> I work for is starting to get schools from other
GC> countries online. I was recently chatting with a
GC> teacher in Australia with no time lag on the
GC> system. The Internet is certainly a powerful tool.
Isn't it neat? You realisel of course, we are living in a science fiction
movie. I wish this technology had been around when my kids were small, so
that I could have worked and been home at the same time.
GC> In our office, we tend to send email rather than
GC> walking down the corridor. This ensures the
GC> instructions are clear and we have a copy in our
GC> email system to followup.
I keep and file a copy of every e-mail and fax that is sent to or recieved
from customers, agents, and allied companies. It's an invaluable tool to
prove what was said at a later date when no one can remember. You'd be
amazed how many times someone has said "I did not agree to that" or "you
promised such and such." I find it very helpful in keeping the office
running smoothly to always be able to reproduce the exact conversation as it
happened. People genuinely forget or misunderstand far more often than they
try to pull one, but once they know I do keep a record of every contact with
a client, agent, or business partner, they're less likely to try to pull
something.
