Ruth...Hello...well, you've been back on line with your FIDO longer than
us. Kurt had installed a new modem and then we were having problems with
the connection between us and the sysop. The sysop said that it had to do
with our modem being "too fast." So, while the sysop tried to figure out a
way to solve the problem; Kurt and I went onto the internet. I saw a few
names that I knew from FIDO but missed a lot of the good people I had
chatted with in the past. At the constant encouraging from Val Murphy; I
got back onto FIDO!!! I'd tell Val to tell everyone on FIDO that I had
said hello and she'd tell me to tell them myself. Nice, huh? 8-D
RH>I've been back on regularly since about December, with little blips her
RH>& there, but yes, it is good to be back. David is joining the Air
RH>Force, taking basic after the wedding; we have no idea where they will
RH>be stationed.  I think Rachel wouldn't mind DM while we're still here;
RH>she's really come to like AZ.
I hope that David and Rachel do get to stay in AZ but its anyone's guess as
to where they'll really be. They probably won't know until after David
graduates from Basic training. Will he do his basic training at DM?
RH>I'd say last summer was the most tolerable since we got here; had the
RH>most rain, that's for sure. I had to make sure all the electronics wer
RH>unplugged during the storms; didn't want the computer or my sewing
RH>machine to get fried. I fit sewing in between storms it seemed. We ha
RH>a couple of major power outages too; wish I had a treadle machine for
RH>those times. Even tho we're cooler than Tucson, I'd still like it a bi
RH>cooler. Yesterday was sunny & got up to 71; that's my kind of weather!
There was a lot of time when we had to stay off the computer too but I
didn't mind. I don't think we ever lost our power last summer but we did
have lightning within a quarter of a mile from us several times. I wanted
to get under the bed but didn't. I survived. The temp today was about 82
degrees. I like that temp but I know it will be hot before too long. Oh
well...
RH>Unless something big blows up there in the next couple of weeks, he wil
RH>be home on the 25th (flying into Tucson). We've never cared for militar
RH>separations but have put up with it as part of the job. It will be so
RH>good to have him around; it gets too quiet here for me sometimes.
I'll keep my fingers and toes cross that your hubby will be home on the
25th.
RH>Steve got his orders changed; Deborah really wanted to stay at the same
RH>school for all of high school. She's quite active in JROTC; her
RH>commander was happy to hear that she would finish out the year as a
RH>company commander. It looks like she will have one of the 3 top cadet
RH>staff positions next year too.
Will Rachel go into the service as well after she graduates from high
school?
RH>We passed it just a couple of weeks ago & didn't know! Is this one of
RH>the crafter's mall type places? I've got a few stamps but not really
RH>played around with them; the sewing is my #1 priority at the moment.
RH>I'm also teaching a class at our church on how to teach preschoolers;
RH>when that ends I'll do one on how to teach children. I'll do the youth
RH>and adult sessions this summer and fall.
Ah, well now you know where I am and when you have the chance; stop by.
Crafters Express is a craft mall with a lot of great things for sell in it.
The owners are wonderful and easy to get along with. I've been with them
for almost six months.
RH>I figure by starting to make the gir;'s dresses for the wedding now,
RH>that by the end of June everything will be done without a lot of last
RH>minute rush. I'm going to pace myself so that I can take breaks from
RH>sewing to do some other fun stuff. I do have fabric & a pattern for a
RH>dress for me but if I don't get time to get it made, I also have an
RH>outfit that I got last month at Ross that will look good.
I'm glad that you aren't rushing on the dresses. That would be too much
stress for me. I'm sure that the girls will look beautiful. My mom made
my wedding dress 15+ years ago. It turned out great and she had time to
make two dresses for herself.
Take care and stay out of trouble. Hahahahahaha!!!
