I wasn't aware that either of them did.  Early on, I switched between
Kermit, Talk Is Cheap, and the AE DataLink 2400 built-in terminal program. 
AGATE also got some use, as it used DHR to render the "IBM graphics" that
other BBSes were using.  Eventually, ProTERM became the one comm program to
rule them all. :-)
