And I made a little thank-you every time I used a PC with MDA/Herc (while
cursing the slow phosphor). UltraVision's font's were hand-tweaked by
someone with great taste, and the sense to steal some of Blue's.

In fairness to Microsoft, they've spent some on font people, and given us
things like Georgia and Verdana, which make the Web more legible and lots
prettier. And Vista promises to finally fix the system-font-sizing
conundrums that infest a pulldown near you.

IBM's research has proved true in lots of ways. Some grad student should
probably do a thesis on my clients, "Applicability of the One-second
Screen Refresh Rule to Trojan and Spyware Slowdowns in Personal Computer
Use." That's when they call, right on the button.
