     The 3c509 nic had echo test software for that card only.
     I tried installing it in the 386 workstation, putting it in
     echo mode. The pentium and 386 did not see each other.
     I did this with the server power off.
     I do not have any other echo software. I do have a ping.exe.
     It always finds the server from the 386 and never from the
     pentium.
