some have found quickstarter poisonous to their NAT
http://www.oooforum.org/forum/viewtopic.phtml?t=25461&start=0&postdays=0&postor

The following happened: I downloaded openoffice.org 2 on our Windows XP
gateway and installed it. Since then all computers in our network were not
able to enter battle.net or log in with msn messenger. Everything else, as
far as I checked seemed to work... http, ssh, etc. After a very irritating
day I finally found that my brother was kicked out of battle.net at around
2 o'clock, bout the same time I finished installing OOo2. Of course I
thought it would be very weird if OOo was the problem... What would OOo
want with messing up NAT?? But after I ommitted the OOo2 quickstart with
msconfig, everything started working again after rebooting.... How about
that!!!! weird uh?? if I started quickstarter again the problems came back
instantly, closing quickstarter wouldn't help, rebooting did...
