I don't much care for country music, there is little of it I
really like. I wasn't much of a Johnny Cash fan, but I had a lot
of respect for him as a person. That started when Richard Nixon
asked Cash to come to the Whitehouse and sing the song, Welfare
Cadillac.
Cash refused. He said he knew too many poor people he would not
sign on to trashing them.
Turning down the president of the US on principle like that
deserves respect.
