YEp, did the whole DUne series by HErbert, some of his other stuff as well.
Poul Anderson, Frederic POhl, and even some
of the later folks, i.e. McCaffrey's dragons series.

DId you read past the trilogy on the foundation series?
There were two more, Foundation's edge, and can't recall the other one, but
it tied the robots series with the foundation series, iirc Robots and
EMpire comes to mind.
