Sometimes it is difficult to get all the junk out of the A/C system if the
failure was compressor related.  Sometimes they fail and don't throw junk
in the system.  

Most of the cases I have seen with A/C systems are leak related.  Many
sleezy side of the road used car salesmen would just re-charge the system
so it appears to work.  Then 6-8 months later, it is not working again.

That is a ton of amps on that fuse!  Not something I would want to stand
next to if it shorted out.  :)
