you don't have to do that with DOS tasks running in windows, either... i
never have and never will... and i've never relied on any other apps to
provide that functionality, either...

times change... and with them, some procedures, too... when i ran straight
DOS, i did the textfile thingy... when i ran DESQview, i moved on to
advanced procedures that worked great... then i (somehow) got into windows
v3 and after that OS/2 and, further on, into OS/2 and win9x when it came
out... in all those environments, i've used their builtin capabilities and
not looked at, for or relied on third party programs to do what was native
in those environments...
