 You left out the part where Cash was quoted as saying the songs
 might backfire. And that Cash chose two songs that were clearly
 left wing, including one with anti-war references.

 And you left out the part where Billy Graham called Nixon, while
 Cash was visiting him, and invited Cash to speak to Nixon. Cash
 said, "He doesn't want to hear from me."

 Or when Cash was asked if visiting Vietnam could turn him into
 a hawk. Cash responded that visiting the wounded and watching
 the choppers bring them in could turn him into a "Dove with
 claws."
