| subject: | Quotes that won`t die |
-> From my cursory reading of that silliness, I understand, at -> least from Ross's assertion that he was quoting a relative. It is a long, long, LONG running exchange. For years, Ross tried to discredit anything Tim said on any subject, in any echo, by digging up similar snippets from his past posts. Tim's response can be seen as "turnabout is fair play" or "two wrongs don't make a right," take your pick. Ross has made a number of amazingly bigoted comments over the years (based on race, religion, gender, and so on), so he shouldn't be surprised to see them reappear when HE accuses others of the same. The old "I was quoting someone else" dodge is amusing, though. He has also used the variations of "I was quoting a freeper" or "I was quoting a Klansman" when people object to his language. But the original post almost never says something like "I saw a news clip of the protest on CNN, and there was a Klansman who was SO BIGOTED that he kept saying bleep." It just says "bleep," so the fact that he thinks it is okay to say "bleep" just because someone else did is laughable. And when he tries to explain away his own comments on race by claiming that his father, his aunt, and other members of his family are racist, well, that is a really strange alibi. --- PCBoard (R) v15.3/M 10* Origin: (1:226/600) SEEN-BY: 3/0 633/267 640/954 712/0 313 848 @PATH: 226/600 123/500 261/38 712/848 633/267 |
