But if I remember properly, the III monitor had a screw near where the AC linecord went into the back, and that held the circuit board to the back cover. A lot of Apple things tend to have a "handle", ie a place where you can carry the thing by inserting your fingers. That's often a place for screws, though if they were still there you'd not get the cover off. Labels are often a place for screws. They prevent the commoners from opening the unit, and they provide an indicator that the case has been opened, if the label has been removed or been broken. A label on the back might be under such a label, you can often tell by running your finger along the label to feel for something.
