I won't play  at the social nicities required to get ahead and thus
I chose work as physically challenging a job as possible so as to be able to
move from one job to another at the drop of a hat should my employment
environment become socially toxic.

Same for commercial driving, the boss was on the other side of the state
and thus I was free to do my job and not ever involved in office politics
for which I've nothing but disdain.
