WOuld agree with your selections.  I blame the culture of
the "sound bite" and instant change the channel.  wHen you
had to actually "read" to get your political information and
inform yourself you gave the writer a chance to put the idea across.  tHese
days, if the presenter doesn't grab your
attention immediately hit the "next" button, whether it be
the return key or the icon to bring up the next message or
page, or next channel on your cable tv.  Screw 'em, if they
don't have my attention immediately it's not worth making a
bit of effort.
