No one does it in a way told by you. PKWARE officially describes PKZIP's 
compression methods, so it isn't a hard job for anyone to crack it. I know a 
plenty of Russian crackers for PKZIP passwords which try 50000 words each 
second on a 486DX2, thus working very fast. The same is true for ARJ and RAR 
archivers.
If the user knows the first byte(s) of file and/or the first letter(s) of 
archive password, the process may become even faster, taking only 17 minutes 
to crack a 4KB file zipped with 8-letter password on a 80286-16...
