Pacific C is (to quote the blurb) "a low-cost, easy to use, and most of
all small DOS C compiler"

Not only is the compiler small & fast, but it produces very compact
code. I believe that it is used by many TAFE colleges & universities. (I
have no commercial interest in the product, but have used it for many
years & Beta test releases.)
