Sounds right.  Anyhow the point was that DJGPP brought me as close to gcc
on a Unix system as I could get at the time.  I used that to test what
would ultimately end up on a Sparc running Solaris and never concerned
myself with running those apps on DOS.  It seems odd to consider
portability when the ultimate is already here.
