Thanks to all that offered suggestions with the date questions I have posed. 
The answer did turn out that the date was packed with the old PackTime 
routine which meant it needed UnpackTime or equivalent to to get back. I 
posed the question in the Delphi 32 forum and compuserve and found out that 
the FileDateToDateTime function in Delphi would unpack it and 
DateTimeToFileDate() will pack it. It would have been nice if borland would 
have left the old one in for compatiblity, or at least put a reference in the 
help. Oh well, I am glad I found the answer. Time to write a few routines to 
mimic PackTime and UnpackTime :)
