If the original NT team had done windows update the option wouldn't be
there if they couldn't do it right. But a point nobody has mentioned, is
windows update driver support better than out of the box installation
driver support? I can't count the times I not only couldn't use the drivers
that came with windows but I couldn't even let windows install the driver
and instead had to use the OEM's install routine.

Geo. (I'm with Rich on this one, it's the people writing the drivers and
making the hardware that I blame)
