What are you using, NETX or VLM's? Get the latest of both and try this again. 
It should work. The difference I see is what version of DOS are the Xt's, 
286's, ... running?  I'm willing to bet you're running NETX and have an older 
version of NETX that doesn't work with DOS 6.2.
