Hi Martin, hows things going in Canada?
 MR> I take a Fender
MR> acoustic every- where - even on aeroplanes - and I've never had any
 MR> serious problems.
Hehe I use my old Fender Acoustic alot(when my nephew ain't borrowing it)
it is the old model with the square head, not the "peanut end":
I check out the Patrick guitars, like not bad quality, nice instruments but
not the right sound, they sell them here for $400 (aussie), but I ended up
getting a Seagull, very nice guitar.
MR> ;-( FWIW, my friend ended up buying a Takamine - mainly because he
MR> needed a stage instrument. The Takamines seem to have pretty good
MR> built-in electronics and are reasonably priced.
Takamine are a lovely instrument, excellent quality, but I found when
recording from it, it sounded a bit dull, I thought the sound would have
 been brighter.
I usually have a mike on a stand infront of my acoustic, but am still
looking at the acoustic pickups, like hard to choose from, but told the
musicshop owner, forget about drilling a hole in my guitar, so checking out
 the clip on mikes.
MR> Btw, did you see the replies to me from Lee Waun re: Canadian
 MR> Guitars?
Norman guitars, not seen them before, and yes I keep a close eye on the
replies, and the info was very helpful.
MR> I love the jangly sound of some of those Rickenbackers, but I've
MR> always found the necks a bit too small. Is yours the same? Are all
MR> `Rickys' the same in that respect?
Yep those Ricks make a great sound, love it, especially plugged into my old
Orange amp, sounds great after I let the amp warm up for an hour, and it
really screams, with the Hohner, it has a large radius neck, nice to play
but the horrible thing is all mahogany and weights a ton, so I gotta sit
 down when I play it.
The necks are good on the Rick especially for fast playing, it is nice to
have a small radius neck on an electric,as I use medium strings which as
we know can be hard to play as the extra pressure needed, but on the
acoustic I like the big neck(large radius thing) with light strings.
Anyway must be off now and many thanks for your help.
 Take care.
 Garry.
