JM> i heard the other day that the NCAA is looking down on individual tv
JM> deals for independent schools.. and since the ND-NBC contract ends
JM> after next season, the NCAA will most likely nix any further ND
JM> contracts.. so they might have to join a conference..
JM> also, if they join the big east, they'd still play a decent schedule
 JM> w/ miami, syracuse, & west virginia..
Another case of the NCAA sticking there nose into something that they don't
need to be in. I think that schools should be able to make any deals that
they want to and do the scheduling that they want to do.
ND/NBC is a good deal for all the Notre Dame subway alum. These people
all over the country have no other way to be able to see ND play. The
ratings must have been pretty good because whenever ND plays an away
game...ABC, CBS, or ESPN pick up the Notre Dame games. In other words,
Notre Dame must have a big following.
The NCAA may nix the ND/NBC contract...but you will still see ND on TV
because the NCAA will get there fingers in the payoff.
