It won't work, it will keep reminding you about it every trip to WU.
People seem to have missed my above point though. MS isn't checking to see
if you are legal, they are shutting legal folks down if their key goes
public because someone read it off the side of the box and posted it to the
internet or because of a thousand other reasons a legal user might not
follow Microsoft copyprotection guidelines to the letter.
this whole copy protection thing has really gotten out of hand. The other
day I smoked my desktop system and had to use a spare box until my new
machine arrives. Now I don't run any software that I can't transfer from
the old box to the new one but I had about a half dozen programs suddenly
require me to satisfy their copy protection because they had keyed to the
motherboard. This is nuts, we don't have time to be dealing with this sort
of crap.
