I myself was wondering about that recently, although I'm not sure if the xbin
stuff would be suited for a GUI BBS interface.  So far it seems it's mainly for
displaying images non-interactively.

I've also been thinking about RIP vs. ANSI lately.  It seems that even though
RIP was around, the majority of BBSing today uses ANSI, and it seems there
aren't many RIP terminal programs.  I was thinking it might be cool to develop
some custom RIP screens for my BBS if I had the time, although with the lack of
modern RIP terminals, I'm not sure if RIP would get much use.
