>Criminals by nature generally are.

But smart criminals make better murder mystery stories.

>Recall the free nature of the Ane Confederation. Your business is your=20
business. The dark side of this is it makes it easier for people to=20 disappear.

That is, of course, if you want to disappear. I doubt that the people who
disappeared and became Qzin meat wanted to disappear. Besides, it was
basically the non-Ane who were involved in solving this, especially Terkos.
Did nobody come looking for the disappeared people? Did Terkos, upon
hearing various reports, start to put things together and realize that
some=
-
thing sinister was happening in the Rue de Verre? He also seemed terribly
unconcerned that there were other victims of what was essentially a pair of
serial murderers. I doubt police officials would react the same = way
today if they bust somebody for murder, and then realize he might have had
a hand in the "disappearance" of other people who, apparently,
nobody had noticed had disappeared.

>Have you read "The Duel"? That will explain Nardo.

Maybe I'll have to reread that one. I don't recall when I did read it.

>I never claimed editing was my strong point. Be my guest.

I have enough trouble editing my own stories. One question, though, how ma= ny times
do you reread a story in its entirely to check for little mistakes like
des= sert/desert,
corner/coroner and missed question marks before posting?
