Hey Alexey!
AV> Good ${greeting_time}, Maurice!
Somebody *really* needs to do something about the above. ;-)
AV> You could try syslinux instead - it's not that bloated as grub is.
That is even more of a pain in the ass building then grub is on a pure 64-bit
system. Seems to me the last time I looked it wanted nasm which I currently
don't have onboard. Also it whined about some other stuff I don't recall at
the moment, but offhand extreme DOS-think comes to mind. :::shudder:::
Good thing I still have a working lilo. Yeah grub is pretty bloated. 'ls -al
/sbin/lilo' and 'ldd /sbin/lilo' follows;
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 171192 Jan 7 19:27 /sbin/lilo
linux-vdso.so.1 (0x00007fff3abf1000)
libc.so.6 => /lib/libc.so.6 (0x00007fb91b833000)
/lib/ld-linux-x86-64.so.2 (0x00007fb91bba2000)
Lean and mean and linked to the onboard 64-bit libs. Works for me.
Life is good,
Maurice
... Don't cry for me I have vi.
