PC>Can anyone suggest an acceptable brand/model of a 4-track mixer/recorder
PC>(standard cassete), suitable for amateur recordings? I looking for

PC>my options/price range i'm looking at? thanx much
        Well, I haven't seen a cassette format 4-track or 8-track with
XLR inputs. I don't know what your budget is, but you might want to
consider the Yamaha MT8X cassette 8-track. It has:
 8 inputs
TRS inserts on the first two inputs
3 band EQ and trim/gain on the first four inputs
2 band EQ on the last four inputs
 2 stereo aux send/rtn
Input #8 is a stereo input
Four track record bus (allows recording of up two four tracks at once)
 Punch In/Out
 Auto Punc In/Out
 Rehearsal Mode
 8 track Cue
 Fixed or Variable Pitch Control
 DBX noise reduction
 Tape sync to FSK
 2 memory (tape counter) locators
 Return to Zero
 OPTIONAL: Remote Control
It's a sweet machine, well worth the money and much better (IMO)
than Tascam's 488 machine which competes at about the same price. List
price is around $1500.00
If you're interested in hearing some recordings I have done with
this machine, respond here or e-mail thirdear@aol.com
        Cya!
