   I'm not an expert, but I took a quick glance.   Server 2003 streams
MP3's using a "Media Parser Plugin", and even then doesn't supply
artist or track information.   Also, it does not stream variable bit rate
MP3's.

   Re: Cost - if you already have servers and logistical support for an
alternate server architecture, then it would definitely not make sense to
use Windows Media Server.
