Two thoughts come to mind:
I bought a world map at either Walmart or Toys R Us. It was in the poster
section. It's the same size as their other posters (I would guess 2 x 3 feet
or thereabouts) and isn't as detailed as something you might find in a school
supply store, but it was accurate and up to date.
Another source might be a missionary organization. I used to work for
Operation Mobilization, and they sell a "Pray for the World" map for just a
few dollars. Their US office is in Tyrone, GA. You can email them at
