Works OK for me (Firefox 1.5 on OS/2), so it almost certainly doesn't
require ActiveX. The 3D option does require DirectX (and maybe ActiveX).

As others have said, maps.Google.com doesn't require ActiveX either.

Does anyone know how to extract map coodinates (latitude/longitude) from
the Live maps? Google Maps gives you the coordinates in decimal form,
although it will accept input in the search box in degrees/minutes/seconds
form. For example, my house: -41.321966,174.773673
